Deaa Bataineh is a designer, researcher, and design educator. Based in Chicago. He loves making things; experiences, brands, and people. He is interested in the intersection of design, innovation, and technology. Deaa is the Chief Design Officer for Diversity Trans World Trading LLC an e-commerce startup in the MENA region. He is also a partner and the Director of Design at Henriette Studio an advertising and Branding agency based in Kuwait City and Paris. He also founded the design collaboratory Made of Labs where he acts as the Chief Design Officer and provides creative and visionary leadership.
Inspired by the role of design in transforming societies and businesses, Deaa co-founded the Department of Design and Visual Communication at JUST’s College of Architecture and
Design where he served as a professor of design for 8 years. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Design at IIT Institute of Design, an MFA in Advertising Design from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and a BFA in Applied Design - minor in Graphic Design.
Deaa is an active member of the design community and has given talks and workshops for UNDP (UN Development Program), EU (European Union), Yarmouk University, and at Galleria Ras Al Ain. His work has won many awards and recognitions worldwide. In 2008, he was named The National Designer of Jordan. Most recently he was one of the top ten finalists in the world to place in the Client Pitch Competition for the One Show Award – One Club Organization In NYC.
